(Lima, SoloAzar Exclusive).- David Orrick, Director of Industry Relations, Merkur Gaming, was interviewed by SoloAzar at the firm’s booth during the recent Peru Gaming Show. He talked about Merkur’s experience in the Peruvian market and the range of products showcased at the event, among other issues.

Merkur Gaming enjoys success at PGS and aims to expand in LatAm

What novelties have you presented?
Here in Lima, in Peru Gaming Show’s 20th anniversary year, we brought a range of our linked progressive jackpots, particularly the latest evolution of LINK ZONE, LINK ZONE 2 , featuring a new range of new base games and important revisions to the jackpot play, plus we displayed SOLO LINK, then we have Merkur Mystery that is proving very popular in Peru, and finally we have a very unusual but also very successful jackpot link, which is simply called Five. It comes originally from success in our home German market but it is now being released internationally.

Why did you decide to present these products in the Latam market?
We brought this selection of games and jackpots as an illustration of the fact that our portfolio has increased, has become wider and has become extremely successful. So we hope that the players and the operators in Peru but also other Latam markets find these products successful and attractive for their own customers, the players.

What are the highlights of the 20th edition of PGS so far?
I think the first day was the busiest with the number and quality of visitors the most impressive that I’ve ever seen on a first day at PGS. Today it is starting good, so we’ll see what is the result at the end of the day

As well as this year being the 20th anniversary of the show, it also marks the 10th year of our company, Merkur Gaming Peru, headed by Ronald Diaz. They are doing a superb job in introducing Merkur products into as many different areas of the Peruvian market as they can but certainly in the larger casinos, for example, Fiesta or Atlantic City. Our products are well represented there and are proving to be extremely successful.

Next challenges in the Latam market?
The entire Latam market holds many opportunities for all companies, but specifically for Merkur Gaming. We can highlight the expansion from Buenos Aires office into Paraguay and Uruguay, we have a lot of work being done right now to enter the market in Chile, and basically, wherever there is legal, well regulated gaming, we want to be there. Very soon now you’ll see the results of this initiative.

Next shows?
We will be in Bucharest, Romania, for the Entertainment Arena Expo in September, then of course we will have a huge presence at G2E in Las Vegas and our show year will finish with BEGE in Bulgaria, in the city of Sofia. After that we’ll start looking forward to having a little holiday for Christmas and New Year, and then on to ICE London 2024.

Are you planning anything for the 10th anniversary of Merkur in Peru?
I understand that a special event will be held in October. We’ll be publicizing this event when we are in Las Vegas in G2E, a few weeks before.
